PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A Multnomah County grand jury has indicted a 52-year-old man on one count of murder in the death of Carla Pedraza.

Harold French was arrested on assault charge shortly after Pedraza was found last month in an open lot beneath Northeast Cesar Chavez Boulevard.

The 56-year-old died from her injuries July 6, prompting the more serious charge.

French is in a downtown Portland jail.
