Healthy Kids Fair comes to Legacy Salmon Creek

Published: June 5, 2010, 12:00am

Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital is holding its fifth annual Healthy Kids Fair on June 12.

Affordable bike and snowboard helmets ($5 and $20, respectively) will be for sale thanks to donations from Legacy staff and the Legacy Foundations. Toddler to adult sizes are available; cash or checks only will be accepted.

You can also recycle old car seats, learn water safety and fire safety techniques, make buttons, tour an ambulance and even perform surgery — on a stuffed duck, that is. You’ll find something special hidden inside the duck, according to a statement from Legacy.

Various hospital departments will offer child-oriented health information, along with 16 community partners.

The Healthy Kids Fair is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center, 2211 N.E. 139th St. It’s free and open to everyone. Call 360-487-1000 for more information.
