Finally, some hope is on the horizon, if you can believe long-range computer forecast models. I know, I know, been there, done that already with no lasting results. Models have tried to forecast some decent weather but in reality it has been short-lived.
We first have to endure another bout of cool, rainy weather Wednesday and Thursday. This flow of air comes in more from the west than southwest, bringing cooler temperatures, with snow possibly down to pass levels. Then the forecast is for clearing and warming by the weekend, just in time for the Grand Floral Parade in Portland.
We should, if everything works out okay, finally reach 80 degrees over the weekend. It appears Portland’s record of the latest 80-degree reading in the year will be broken as clouds and showers put us past June 9 (the record since 1991).
Today will be a transition day, with clearing skies in the morning leading into some higher clouds in the afternoon. Rain may start before midnight but not before we jump in the 70s.
