WIMBLEDON, England (AP) — Latvia’s Ernests Gulbis has withdrawn from Wimbledon because of a hamstring injury.

Gulbis’ place in the seedings has been taken by Germany’s Philipp Petzschner, with Santiago Ventura of Spain entering the draw as a lucky loser.

The 27th-seeded Gulbis, who could have met top-ranked Rafael Nadal in the third round, retired in the first round of the French Open last month.
