DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Chaunte Lowe has broken her own American record in the high jump, leaping 6 feet, 8-34 inches at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Lowe set the U.S. mark at 6-814 last month in Cottbus, Germany.

The charismatic Lowe celebrated the winning jump Saturday with a victory lap around Drake Stadium.

The record-breaking jump gave Lowe her third straight outdoor national title and fourth overall. Lowe was the bronze medalist at the World Indoors earlier this year.
