An 8-year-old boy Battle Ground boy remained in fair condition Sunday night in a Portland hospital with injuries suffered Saturday morning after he fell off the bumper of a moving car.

Brandon Lee fell from the back of his father’s Ford Escort wagon in the 22500 block of 216th Circle, a private road in a vacant gated development north of Hockinson, said Clark County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chuck Christensen.

The boy’s father, 32-year-old Jeremy Lee of Battle Ground, took his son home to summon help, Christensen said.

Crews from Fire District 3 responded, and the boy was taken by Life Flight helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland.

Christensen said Brandon and two other boys had been standing on the back bumper of the Escort and holding on to a roof rack as Jeremy Lee drove very slowly when the accident occurred.
