MINAM, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say an angler discovered the body of a “near full-term baby” at Minam State Park in northeast Oregon.

Sheriff Fred Steen of Wallowa County says foul play is suspected and persons of interest are being interviewed. The state medical examiner in Portland will conduct an autopsy.

Fishermen in the area were interviewed following the Monday afternoon discovery and the crime scene was blocked off from incoming and outgoing traffic to the campground during the initial investigation.

The Observer newspaper of La Grande reports that no one is in custody.
