Pedestrian hit Tuesday remains in hospital

A woman struck by a pickup truck late Tuesday remains in an area hospital where she’s being treated for life-threatening injuries, according to a bulletin from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman’s, 59, name is being withheld pending the notification of her family.

She was walking in the southbound lanes of Northeast Highway 99 in Hazel Dell at about 10:18 p.m. when she was hit. Police responded to the 11000 block of Highway 99.

The driver, Michael H. Taylor of Beaverton, Ore., was released at the scene, according to the bulletin.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
