SEATTLE (AP) — Federal immigration officials are attempting to attract more Washington state employers to a training program that would teach companies how to spot fraudulent documents.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is holding a seminar in Seattle on Friday in which the agency will recruit employers to join a program called Mutual Agreement between Government and Employers, known as IMAGE.

Under this program, employers are trained by ICE to detect fraudulent or stolen identity documents. The employer is also taught lessons in federal hiring laws and how to use screening tools. ICE also conducts an audit of the employer’s I-9 forms.

According to ICE, there are eight companies in the state enrolled in the program, while more than 100 nationwide.
