ISLAND COUNTY, Wash. (AP) — San Juan County Sheriff William Cumming says the theft Sunday of a sport fishing boat from Lopez Island may be the work of an elusive teen bandit.

KOMO-TV reports Cumming says he’s investigating whether Colton Harris-Moore, dubbed the “barefoot bandit” was responsible. The boat was reported missing from a private marina Sunday morning. The Coast Guard found it a short time later floating off Camano Island.

Cumming says the theft may be linked to another boat stolen from a San Juan Island home two days ago.

Harris-Moore is wanted in several break-ins around Western Washington since he escaped from a group home for juvenile offenders in April 2008.
