SANDY, Utah (AP) — Fabian Espindola and Alvaro Saborio scored three minutes apart in the first half to lead Real Salt Lake to a 4-1 victory over the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday night, its franchise-record fifth straight win.

Robbie Russell and Ned Grabavoy also scored for the defending MLS Cup champions, who improved to 6-3-1 for the best start in franchise history. The victory also extended Real Salt Lake’s regular-season home winning streak to 15 games, while the Wizards watched their winless streak reach seven games.

Kansas City was the last team to win at Rio Tinto Stadium on May 16, 2009.
