Changing weather: Weekend storm forecast for NW

Published: October 21, 2010, 12:00am

SEATTLE (AP) — The National Weather Service says a big change is on the way for the Northwest.

Forecasters say Thursday is the last day of tranquil weather. Rain will start moving in Thursday night and Friday.

Forecasters say a potent Pacific storm on Saturday night will bring gusty winds on the coast and parts of the interior of Western Washington and heavy rain in places across Washington.

Colder air on Sunday will drop the freezing level to 3,500 feet and bring the first significant snow of the season to the mountains.
