RENTON, Wash. (AP) — A short power outage early Friday in the Puget Sound area was caused by a fire at a Puget Sound Energy substation in Renton.

Firefighters told KIRO-TV the fire about 1:30 a.m. was caused when a power pole snapped.

The station says power fluctuated or went out for about a minute for thousands of utility customers in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties between Arlington and Gig Harbor.
