SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The Red Cross in Spokane has set up a temporary shelter for about 60 residents of a three-story apartment house that caught fire early Saturday.
KHQ-TV says the fire spread rapidly through the roof and third floor of the building next to the Spokane River on the city’s east side. Firefighters worked to quickly evacuate the residents and no injuries were immediately reported.
KHQ says about 21 apartments have been deemed temporarily unlivable. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
