Prep football Week 3: Mountain View vs. Prairie

The Columbian
Published: September 16, 2010, 12:00am

When, where: 7 p.m. Friday at District Stadium, Battle Ground

Records: Mountain View (1-1, 0-1), Prairie (1-1, 0-0); 3A GSHL games

Game notes: This is the first matchup betwen the Thunder and Falcons as 3A GSHL rivals. … Mountain View won last year’s non-league meeting 46-20, but the Falcons won in 2008. … This game will be a battle of styles: Mountain View’s ground attack vs. Prairie’s air attack. … P.J. Jones leads Mountain View with 281 rushing yards, but the Thunder had four different RBs gain 50 yards against Camas. … Prairie QB Colin Seitz has passed for 485 yards. He hit on 11 of 15 passes last week against Hockinson. … Stopping teams has been a problem for the Falcons. Hockinson rushed for more than 200 yards last week. They gave up 47 points in a loss to Lakewood.

The Columbian’s take: This might be one of the more intriguing matchups of the week. Prairie can move the ball up the field, but so can Mountain View at a methodical pace. The Thunder also have the defense. That in the end may be the difference. Pick: Mountain View
