SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Several witnesses told Spokane police they saw a woman who was walking her dog slip and fall into the Spokane River.

They say she struggled and was seen bobbing Monday evening before she disappeared in the fast-moving water.

KXLY and KHQ report marine search and rescue teams and the sheriff’s helicopter searched until 9 p.m. Monday until they had to call off the search because of darkness, rain and dangers river conditions.
