CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State University is claiming victory in the RecycleMania Civil War with the University of Oregon.

OSU students recycled more than 350,000 pounds or about 15 pounds per student during the 10-week competition that ended this month. That compares with about 255,000 pounds or 10 pounds per student for University of Oregon students.

KVAL reports OSU also won the 2010 competition and retains a trophy made of reused materials.

More than 600 universities took part in the 10th annual RecycleMania competition.
