PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Hundreds of people swarmed the plaza outside Eugene’s city hall for a candlelight vigil to remember slain traffic officer Chris Kilcullen.
Saturday night’s event drew the police chief as well as the mayor along with his colleagues and Eugene area residents.
The 43-year-old officer was shot and fatally wounded Friday in Springfield after a traffic stop led to a chase.
A 57-year-old Springfield woman has been arrested and charged with aggravated murder in Kilcullen’s death.
