SEATTLE (AP) — Three-time WNBA MVP Lauren Jackson has signed a multi-year extension that will likely allow her to end her career with the Seattle Storm, the only franchise she has played for.

The Storm announced the extension on Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not released.

Jackson, 30, has missed much of this season after tearing the labrum in her hip and requiring surgery. Seattle is hopeful Jackson may be able to return at the end of the regular season.

She’s helped Seattle to a pair of titles in her career, including last season’s sweep through the playoffs. She was the league MVP in 2003, 2007 and last season.

Jackson is expected to miss much of the 2012 season, spending her time before the Olympics in London back in Australia training with the national team. She is expected to join the Storm next season following the Olympics.
