Nightly I-5 lane closures to begin at Salmon Creek

Published: August 12, 2011, 5:00pm

Starting Monday, drivers can expect nightly lane closures on both sides of Interstate 5 near Salmon Creek. The closures will affect the freeway between Northeast 134th and 179th streets while crews begin widening work as part of the $133 million Salmon Creek Interchange Project.

Traffic will be shifted to the outside shoulders as work continues. Several interchange ramps will close at times: Crews will close the onramp from Northeast 179th Street to southbound I-5 both Monday and Tuesday nights from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. The I-5 offramps to Northeast 179th will close Wednesday and Thursday nights.

The entire Salmon Creek Interchange Project, at the junction of I-5 and Interstate 205, is scheduled to be finished in 2014.
