Esther Short — Sixteen teams rode tandem in support of the Washington State School for the Blind during the 6th annual Vancouver Courthouse Criterium on July 31. Volunteers and students opened the race by riding the first three laps. The Criterium helps support the school’s tandem cycling program, an opportunity for the students to experience biking, get exercise and learn about their community. This year, the school was able to purchase safety vests for the riders as well as new tandem bicycles with proceeds from the Criterium.
