BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Two Oregon men have acknowledged taking clients on illegal hunting trips on a ranch in Park County.

The Billings Gazette (http://bit.ly/Ms4Fx ) reports that 71-year-old Richard “Dick” Weiner, and his son, 42-year-old Richard “Matt” Weiner, both of Salem, appeared in federal court Thursday and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to violate the Lacey Act, which regulates the interstate sale, transportation and purchase of wildlife. Matt Weiner also acknowledged four misdemeanor violations of the act for transporting illegally taken wildlife.

Prosecutors say Dick Weiner operates Oregon Outdoor Adventures, an outfitting company that arranged the excursions, and for five years until 2010, clients paid him $1,500 to $2,500 to hunt on the ranch. Matt Weiner was accused of illegally killing, tagging and transporting four whitetail buck deer and two antelope bucks.
