LONDON (AP) — Blackburn has signed Montenegro winger Simon Vukcevic from Sporting Lisbon and is set to add FC Dallas center back George John from Major League Soccer.

The 25-year-old Vukcevic, who will join on a three-year contract, is awaiting a visa and British work permit. Manager Steve Kean is hoping Vukcevic will be available for the Premier League match against Everton on Saturday.

John has traveled to Greece — his grandparents’ homeland — to collect a passport and avoid the necessity of obtaining a work permit.

Kean says John is “a commanding defender, he is quick, aggressive.”
