PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say a 21-year-old man running in a canyon in Oregon City has been wounded in the leg.

The Oregonian reports (http://bit.ly/nxiAdx ) the man told the Clackamas County sheriff’s office Thursday evening that he didn’t see the shooter.

The man, whose name was not made public, called his mother, who summoned help. The runner made his way to a road, where rescuers met him. He was taken to the hospital.

The paper said officers closed the road and searched the canyon.
