WASHOUGAL, Wash. (AP) — Shots were reportedly fired from inside a burning house in Washougal, forcing firefighters to withdraw.
Police and a SWAT team have responded to the scene.
A spokesman for the operation, East Valley Fire and Rescue Chief Scot Koehler, says no one outside the home has been injured. A police car was hit by something.
Koehler says it’s not exactly clear if shots were fired or ammunition of fireworks went off. He says there have been a number of explosions as the home burned.
A shot was reported by a neighbor who went to the door of the burning home Wednesday morning and heard a voice saying, “Go Away.”
