The United Way of the Columbia-Willamette distributed nearly a quarter of a million dollars in emergency aid to organizations throughout the metro area.

United Way gave $223,000 from its Community Relief Fund to 16 local organizations on Monday. All of the organizations help residents with emergency food, rent and utilities.

These Clark County organizations received money:

• Share: $7,802.48.

• YWCA of Clark County: $6,241.98.

• Salvation Army of Clark County: $14,044.47.

• Inter-Faith Treasure House: $1,560.50.

This is eighth distribution of Community Relief Fund money. The money is allocated based on a percentage agreed upon by the recipient organizations. It helps pay for basic needs.
