Evergreen — On Dec. 17, Sea Mar Community Health Center hosted a holiday party for more than 100 needy families at Evergreen High School in Vancouver. About 450 people received a warm meal, and about 300 children received toys. Attendees had their photos taken with Santa and were entertained by Groove Nation, a local dance group. Families also were treated to a visit from two Portland Timbers soccer players, Sal Zizzo and Mamadou “Futty” Danso. About 80 to 90 volunteers helped at the event, Lynnette Pickup, chairman of the children’s Christmas committee, said. All supplies and gifts for the party were donated.
