CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Chad Gray and Desmond Holloway each scored 22 points to lead Coastal Carolina to a 99-86 win over Virginia Military Institute on Saturday.

Holloway added a career-high 15 rebounds for the Chanticleers (22-2, 13-0 Big South Conference), who extended Division I’s second-longest active winning streak to 20 games. Only No. 1 Ohio State, which has won 23 consecutive games, has a longer active streak.

Coastal Carolina led by as many as 26, 61-35, with 17:52 left to play and outrebounded the Keydets 52-40.

VMI (12-11, 5-8) came into Saturday as the nation’s highest-scoring team, averaging 91.5 points per game. But the Keydets shot 33.3 percent from the floor in the opening half (12 of 36) en route to a 53-34 halftime deficit.

Keith Gabriel scored 21 off the bench to lead VMI. Austin Kenon added 18 and Ron Burks 16 for the Keydets.
