Coastal Carolina beats CCSU 86-67

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Elijah Wilson scored 19 points as Coastal Carolina beat Central Connecticut State 86-67 on Friday night.

Coastal Carolina (7-7) dominated the paint as Michel Enanga, Badou Diagne each recorded a double-double with points and rebounds — 13 and 10, 10 and 13, respectively. The Chanticleers held a 48-31 rebounding advantage, including 20 on the offensive end.

CCSU (4-9) was paced by Malcolm McMillan with 12 points, seven rebounds. The Blue Devils made just 6 of 13 free throws, while Coastal Carolina attempted 25, making 72 percent.

An early 13-0 run, capped by back-to-back 3-pointers by Wilson and Josh Cameron, put Coastal Carolina in front 18-5. The Chanticleers pushed their lead to 47-28 at halftime.

Coastal Carolina led 77-57 with 3:28 left, CCSU went on a 10-0 run to make things interesting, but the Chanticleers closed the game on a 9-0 run.

Six players scored in double figures for Coastal Carolina.
