HOUGH — Concerned about little kids on bikes? Neighbor Eric Giacchino is trying to organize a bicycle safety program at Hough Elementary School in late spring — emphasizing safety equipment, rules of the road and basic bike care. He hopes to take the program citywide, and he’s chasing a grant to help provide helmets to kids who can’t afford one. If your child attends fourth or fifth grade at Hough and you’re interested in the program, let the principal know. If you’re a cyclist who could volunteer some time as an instructor or ride-a-long aide, call Giacchino at 360-993-1038.
