Robert Morris defeats Fairleigh Dickinson 74-50

HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) — Lijah Thompson scored 16 points and Karon Abraham added 12 to lead Robert Morris over Fairleigh Dickinson 74-50 on Thursday night.

The Colonials (13-13, 9-6 Northeast Conference) led 28-18 at halftime despite shooting 9 of 26 from the floor (34.6 percent) in the opening half.

Robert Morris continued to lead, 50-37, with 8:30 left to play before going on an 11-2 run, capped by a 3-pointer from Abraham with 6:23 to go. The Colonials improved to 56.7 percent from the field (17 of 30), including 5 of 6 beyond the arc (83.3 percent) in the second half.

The Knights (4-22, 2-13) were led by Kamil Svrdlik’s 12 points and eight rebounds. John Galvin and Ayotunde Oyeniyi each grabbed eight rebounds as well for Fairleigh Dickinson, which has lost 10 straight and 19 of its last 20 contests.

Robert Morris outscored the Knights 34-18 in the paint and forced 17 turnovers.
