NEW YORK (AP) — A filly owned by celebrity chef Bobby Flay won a $45,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares by 114 lengths at Aqueduct on Wednesday.
Super Espresso beat 3-5 favorite Indian Blossom for her second win in eight starts. The 4-year-old, $1.1 million yearling purchase of Flay covered one mile, 70 yards in 1:43.81.
Trained by Todd Pletcher and ridden by Junior Alvarado, Super Espresso paid $15.40, $4.60 and $2.80. Indian Blossom returned $2.50 and $2.10. Sing My Song paid $2.80 to show.
