CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — Horace Bond hit a tie-breaking 3-pointer with 29 seconds left and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi edged Southeastern Louisiana 62-59 Saturday.

Demond Watt had 13 points and 10 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season for the Islanders (6-11, 1-2 Southland), and Chris Mast scored 10 points. Justin Reynolds finished with 11 rebounds.

Trent Hutchin led the Lions (7-7, 1-1) with 18 points while David Ndoumba added 15.

After Bond’s 3 made it 60-57, Ndoumba scored on a layup with 10 seconds left before Hollis Hill hit both of his free throws with 8.1 seconds to play.

The Lions had a chance to tie at the buzzer, but Brandon Fortenberry’s desperation 3 from the left elbow fell short.

Corpus Christi led 30-26 at halftime and shot 53.5 percent.
