SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Spokane’s bomb squad was called out Monday when a suspicious package was found along the route of the city’s Martin Luther King Jr. day march.

The package was found about a half hour before the march was to begin. March organizers altered the route as streets in a large section of downtown Spokane were closed during the investigation. No injuries were reported.

In a news release, police say the Spokane City-County Explosives Disposal Unit rendered the package safe. Officials have not said what the package may have contained.

The FBI has joined the investigation.
