SEATTLE (AP) — The Snohomish County sheriff’s office says a father and son are the two people killed in a small plane crash on the Cascade foothills in Snohomish County.

Recovery crews were due back at the remote crash site on Sunday to recover the bodies. The sheriff’s office says recovery will be difficult due to the terrain.

Officials say the father and son are from the town of Deer Park in eastern Washington. They say family alerted authorities after the duo didn’t reach Arlington on time.

FAA spokesman Mike Fergus says the wreckage of the Piper PA 22 was found Saturday. He says the plane had been reported missing Friday.
