7-year-old Salem boy injured in motorcycle crash

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A 7-year-old Salem boy is in a Portland hospital with injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.

The Marion County sheriff’s office says he was riding the small dirt bike on his grandparents’ property Wednesday afternoon and swerved onto a road into the path of a pickup truck. His injuries are described as serious. He was wearing a helmet.

The boy was treated at a Salem emergency room and flown to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland.
