2nd-seeded Pavlyuchenkova advances in Baku Cup

BAKU, Azerbaijan (AP) — Second-seeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova beat fellow Russian Elena Bovina 6-4, 6-0 on Thursday to advance to the Baku Cup quarterfinals.

Pavlyuchenkova lost just just nine points in the second set.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Kateryna Bondarenko upset fourth-seeded Ekaterina Makarova of Russia 6-1, 6-4, and Georgia’s Anna Tatishvili beat compatriot Tatia Mikadze 7-6 (4), 6-3.
