GOODWOOD, England (AP) — Opinion Poll hung on to win the Goodwood Cup by a short head from fast-finishing Lost in the Moment in the feature race at Goodwood on Thursday.

The 9-2 favorite, ridden by the popular Frankie Dettori, overtook longtime leader Overturn with a furlong to run and held on in the Group 2 race over two miles.

“He’s an honest horse — he never runs a bad race,” Dettori said of Opinion Poll, who was second at the Gold Cup at Ascot last month.

Lost in the Moment (11-1) came in second to complete a 1-2 for owners Godolphin, with 20-1 shot Blue Bajan close behind in third.
