LYNNWOOD, Wash. (AP) — A Lynnwood, Wash., police spokeswoman says a 5-year-old boy was seriously burned while playing with finger nail polish remover and a lighter.

Police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said the boy was reported in critical condition Friday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Fire and medic units responded Wednesday to an apartment in Lynnwood after the boy’s mother called 911. Police and the Lynnwood fire marshal’s office continue to investigate.
