Vancouver police are investigating after a man’s burning body was found early Wednesday morning on a sidewalk in downtown Vancouver. No foul play is suspected at this time.

Police responded at 3:23 a.m. to West Ninth and Columbia streets for a report of a body on the sidewalk that was on fire, according to police spokeswoman Kim Kapp. Arriving officers found a man dead with his upper torso on fire.

Kapp said there is no indication of foul play at this time, and the death is being investigated as an accident.

The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the man’s identity, Kapp said, along with cause and manner of death.
