SHANGHAI (AP) — Cesar Cielo of Brazil has won his second gold medal of the world swimming championships, finishing first in the 50-meter freestyle “splash and dash.”

Cielo, cleared of doping by the Court of Arbitration for Sport last week, finished in a time of 21.52 seconds Saturday. He won his first gold in the 50 butterfly last Monday.

Luca Dotto of Italy took the silver in a time of 21.90 and Alain Bernard of France earned the bronze in 21.92.

Cielo is the world record holder in the event, setting a time of 20.91 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in December 2009, just before the high-tech bodysuits were banned in competition.
