Trooper’s brother killed in crash near Olympia

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol says the brother of a state trooper was killed in a head-on collision Wednesday afternoon near Olympia.

The patrol says the car driven by 19-year-old Joseph Bidot of Olympia was in the oncoming lane on when it collided with another car on Yelm Highway. He died at the scene. The patrol says he’s the brother of a trooper who works in the Yakima area, Pedro Bidot.

The other driver in the collision was taken to an Olympia hospital and is expected to recover.
