OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) — Alexandra S. White’s Colony Club wore down pacesetter Ahvee’s Destiny and posted a half-length victory in the $65,000 Fort Monmouth Stakes at Monmouth Park on Saturday.

Ridden by Forest Boyce, Colony Club covered the 512 furlongs over firm turf in 1:02. The 5-year-old mare returned $23.60, $9.80 and $6.

Ahvee’s Destiny paid $6.40 and $4.60. It was another length back to Cherry on the Top, who paid $6.20 to show.

“She’s a very nice filly,” Boyce said. “You can put her wherever. She can race on the lead or from behind. She’s a tough little filly and everything worked out well today.”

White also trains Colony Club and this was his first stakes win.
