STEVENSON, Wash. (AP) — A 36-year-old Vancouver man was fatally injured Sunday in a logging accident near Mount St. Helens.

The Skamania County sheriff’s office says deputies were called to the scene near Swift Reservoir where employees of North Fork Resources were moving logging equipment. A logging skidder went off the narrow logging road and rolled several times down a 250-foot embankment.

The operator, James Schiefelbein, was ejected and died at the scene.
