Chamber names Camas, Washougal’s top teachers

Camas — Kathy Beckman and Penny Andrews have been selected to receive the Camas-Washougal Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year awards. Beckman is the Camas School District 2011 Teacher of the Year and Andrews is the Washougal School District 2011 Teacher of the Year. The two were honored recently at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Banquet held at the Camas Meadows Golf Club. Beckman has been a reading specialist at Lacamas Elementary for 10 years. Andrews is a fourth-grade teacher at Cape Horn-Skye Elementary School and has been a teacher in the district for seven years.
