ELLENSBURG, Wash. (AP) — A vehicle apparently rolled in steep, hilly terrain northwest of Ellensburg, killing two teenagers and seriously injuring another.

The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office says the driver, Taylor Lanning, and passenger Colby Allemand were pronounced dead at the scene Wednesday evening. Both were 16-year-old Ellensburg High School students.

Another passenger, 15-year-old Kassidy Gilmore, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Gilmore is listed in serious but stable condition.

The Sheriff’s Office says speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash. The agency says the three had been camping with other students where alcohol was being consumed.
