YELM, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol says an 83-year-old Olympia woman has been killed in a head-on collision on Yelm Highway in Thurston County.
Trooper Guy Gill said a 29-year-old Olympia man driving a pickup turned left onto Yelm Highway on Monday — turning into the westbound lane where there was oncoming traffic — and collided with the woman’s Mercedes.
Both drivers were taken to an Olympia hospital where the woman was pronounced dead. Her name was not immediately released.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
