NEW YORK (AP) — Sophia, the 4-5 favorite, held on for a three-quarter length victory over Emily Allstar in the $54,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares at Belmont Park.

David Cohen was aboard as Sophia led all the way, opening a 5-length advantage in the lane before seeing that margin dwindle. The 5-year-old trained by Steve Klesaris drifted to the outside in deep stretch, but dug in for her fifth win in seven starts.

The time was 1:11.63 for the six furlongs.

Sophia paid $3.60, $2.80 and $2.10. Emily Allstar returned $7.40 and $3.90 while Hit It Rich, $4.10, got third.
