TUMWATER, Wash. (AP) — Tumwater, Wash., School District spokeswoman Kim Howard says the district evacuated all 10 of its schools Tuesday afternoon in response to a threat.
Howard tells The Olympian newspaper that an initial sweep through the schools turned up nothing. Police are investigating. No immediate details on the threat.
Elementary school children were let back into their buildings after about an hour and sent home as usual. Middle and high school students were released for the day.
The spokeswoman says after-school activities were canceled. Classes are scheduled for their regular time Wednesday.
