C-Tran open houses set over rate hike proposal

C-Tran is proposing a 5-cent increase in its basic bus fare, to take effect Sept. 1.

The regular fare is currently $1.55.

The transit agency will host three open houses to share information and provide an opportunity for public feedback. The agency’s nine-member board of directors will then hold a formal public hearing at 5:30 p.m. April 12 at the sixth-floor hearing room at the Clark County Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St.

The three open houses are as follows:

• 5 to 7 p.m. March 16: Fishers Landing Transit Center, Rose Besserman Community Room, second floor, 3510 S.E. 164th Ave.

• 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 21: Public Service Center, sixth-floor hearing room.

• 5:30 p.m. March 31: Advisory committee monthly meeting, C-Tran administration building, 2425 N.E. 65th Ave.
